Year 7 EOTC 2024

In weeks six and seven, all our Year 7 classes took part in Education Outside The Classroom.

Classes had a range of different challenges, all provided by qualified instructors or our experienced Year 7 teachers.

Locations ranged from in-school activities to Orewa Beach to Wenderholm Regional Park to Woodhill Forest. A huge thanks goes to the parents that helped with supervision over this week, especially those that helped with transport to Wenderholm.

We also acknowledge the support of whanau, providing ingredients or equipment for camp cooking. Without parent support, our EOTC programme simply couldn’t operate

.

Students participated in activities such as a school art trail, taskmaster challenge, outdoor cooking, raft-building, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing, and a high-ropes course.
The program included links to physical skills, art, performing arts, health, social studies, Te Reo and Maoritanga, Manaakitanga, water safety, life skills, and getting to know our local environment.

The skills and experience that students gained will be built on during Education Outside The Classroom in Year 8, which includes Year 8 Camp.

Next term, we have been fortunate to have secured funding to subsidise each class for a day and a half cycle safety programme run in partnership with Harbour Sport and Auckland Transport. More information will follow early next term.
