Orewa College has a proud history of producing excellent educational outcomes since its establishment in 1956. Nestled in the vibrant Hibiscus Coast, our campus offers a unique educational experience enhanced by easy access to local beaches, regional parks and the Auckland CBD.
Historically, the college has consistently achieved highly across academic, sporting, arts and leadership areas, with many students attaining regional and national representational honours.
Orewa College offers a high quality, relational, future-focused education, which is strongly supported by traditional values. Our dedicated staff embody the values of Manaaki, fostering a culture of care and respect among our students. Our values programme, Manaaki Orewa, is incorporated in all aspects of school life, “respect for self, others and the environment”.
Orewa College is a large school that offers an intimate atmosphere, of warmth, family-like qualities of a small school. Our Middle-School (Year 7 and Year 8) serves as a seamless, unique transition into the Senior-School, ensuring continuity and care.
Central to Orewa College is the House System, a longstanding tradition that fosters camaraderie and leadership, linking all students throughout Year 7 to Year 13. Through house events and friendly competition, we use the House System as a means to strengthen a sense of pride and belonging within our school.
It is an absolute privilege and honour to be the (5th) principal of Orewa College. As an alumni of this school, a member of this community, and ‘he uri o tēnei whenua’, I take great pride and responsibility in seeking to provide outstanding opportunities for our rangatahi (youth).
