Bus Information

Orewa College offers urban and rural bus services operated by Bayes and GoBus, with payment options through AT HOP cards or paywave-enabled bank cards.

Urban Bus Routes

Orewa College’s urban buses are operated by Bayes and GoBus.

Urban Bus List:

  • Bayes Bus 004 (Army Bay)
  • Bayes Bus 005 (Arkles Bay & Manly)
  • Bayes Bus 006 (Red Beach)
  • Bayes Bus 007 (Stanmore Bay)
  • GoBus 040 (Millwater Parkway)
  • GoBus 050 (Bankside Road)

Payment

  • Use a registered AT HOP card to tag on/off.
  • Cards must have a positive balance.
  • Student will now be able to pay with any paywave enabled bank card or app but will be charged a full adult fare.

Rural Bus Routes

Orewa College provides seven rural bus services operated by Bayes and GoBus for students in rural areas.

  • Bayes Bus 205 (Takekeroa)

  • Bayes Bus 209 (Haruru & Pine Valley)
  • Bayes Bus 212 (Horsehoebush Road)
  • GoBus 216 (Puhoi)

Bus Responsibilities

Students & Caregivers Must:

  • Complete the Code of Conduct Form each year.
  • Submit the Orewa College Bus Pass form to order the appropriate bus sticker for their Student Photo ID Card ($2 fee or koha)

If you don’t have internet access, paper copies are available at reception.

Students Must:

  • Carry an Orewa College bus pass for every trip.
  • Stay updated via:
    • Orewa College App (notifications).
    • Daily Notices.
    • Joining their bus's Google Classroom group.

Bus Pass Options

Ministry-Funded Transport:

  • Must carry their OC Student Photo ID card (or use a temporary pass until they have their Photo ID).
  • Must have the correct Bus Pass sticker and Code Of Conduct sticker on their OC Student Photo ID Card.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Address must meet Ministry of Education guidelines (e.g., not near another school or public bus route).
