On Wednesday 26 June, 31 senior international students visited Te Hana Te Ao Marama Marae and participated in a pōhiri and a wander around the 17th Century village to get a glimpse of how Māori lived pre-colonisation.

Year 12 student Esteban Bauder, from Switzerland, bravely and proficiently performed the whaikōrero during the pōhiri and the students supported him with a waiata they had learned.

The students were well engaged and felt they had learned greatly from the experience.
