The Year 13 textile technology students visited Auckland Art Gallery to see the amazing Guo Pei exhibition.

This Chinese fashion designer has produced some incredible garments that celebrate Chinese traditional skills in a contemporary and creative way.

Students were blown away by the embroidery details, incredible silhouettes and creative use of materials. They came away full of inspiration, ready to design their exhibition pieces for the end of year Technology showcase.

We also visited Whitecliffe School of Fashion and Sustainability where they chatted with lecturers and students and walked around their fashion studios and dye room. A great learning experience for those looking to study fashion after school.
