On Friday and Saturday Orewa College was represented at this iconic multisport race which traverses the South Island from Kumara to Christchurch. Competing in the gruelling 2 day event with 7 or 8 hours of racing each day which includes road cycling and mountain running on day 1 and whitewater kayaking and road cycling on day 2, totalling 243 epic kms.
Congratulations to our year 13 students who brought home school category honours:
Cameron Smith and Hamish Howarth, Year 13 - 1st place in the tandem category (racing together side by side and kayaking in a double kayak) total time 17:00:49.
Josef Andrews, Year 13 - 3rd place in the individual category. Total time 14:49:01 - an outstanding overall time!.
These results not only represent the hard work the boys have put in over the past few months but also the development that started in Year 7 at the AIMS Games.
