Last Thursday students in Year 9 Music and Japanese classes were treated to a workshop by the award winning virtuoso master of the Japanese shamisen, Noriko Tadano. Ms Tadano demonstrated the shamisen and then performed some traditional music and songs. She gave every student the chance to play something on the shamisen and practice the traditional strumming technique. The workshop ended with everyone learning a traditional Japanese fisherman dance.
