Careers Hub Week 2 Term 3

This is an important term to be having robust conversations with students around their course selection and what it is that may spark some interest for them beyond school. Year 11 students are scheduled to have a presentation from us in Careers across the next few weeks to talk about the resources available to them when deciding what subjects to take next year. All Year 12 students by the end of this week will have had a presentation regarding their choices, goals and plans for next year and beyond school. All students are encouraged to use our Careers Google Classroom resources, including the Calendar where there are a variety of Open Days and Information Evenings scheduled by various Tertiary Organisations this term - Year 12 students especially are encouraged to make the most of these opportunities this year to contribute to their future thinking a Speedmeet has been organised with schools in mind later this term, for students who are interested in a trade. If senior students who have their restricted licence are interested in being part of this, can they please register their interest in the Careers Hub.

Year 13 students should be working on their plans for next year, including working on Scholarship and Accommodation applications for those heading into Tertiary institutes, or putting together ideas around applications, CVs and gaining experience with interviews for job opportunities.

The staff in the Careers Hub are here to assist students in their plans beyond school and this term Year 12 students are strongly encouraged to make an appointment to see a Careers Advisor to assist with this. They can do this by popping in at a Morning Tea or Lunchtime to make an appointment at a time that will suit them.
