This year Orewa College took over fifty students to our annual Band Camp. Band Camp this year saw students from Year 13 all the way down to Year 8 attending, all of which were hyped as soon as the bus arrived at camp.

Every single student gave it their all throughout each rehearsal, no matter whether they were in Symphonic Band, Concert Band or Senior Jazz Band. After each hard practice session, the students would munch down on seconds and thirds of their favourite meals from the camp.

On Saturday evening all students changed into their costumes to the theme of “Rhyme without Reason” and even a certain AC/DC member turned up thanks to Mr Wilkin’s “Rock Lobster” costume. All the students danced their hearts out to classic songs and some new songs.

After the party, all the students crashed into their dormitories and had a good long sleep before performing Sunday morning for all parents to listen to. We had a new band appearance of The Quintet followed by Symphonic Band, Concert Band and Senior Jazz ended the whole performance off with some stunning solos.
