The University of Auckland held its annual Maths Olympiad on Saturday with 11 Orewa College budding mathematicians competing. Consisting of 10 very challenging maths-based problems students could gain a maximum score of 3 points per question over the 2 hour competition. The students made a good effort with a couple of our senior students, Max Lee (13SHF) and Anna Li (13KRT), getting a very positive score of 10 for their efforts. We have been invited to take a junior (Year 9-11) and senior (Year 12-13) team to the Olympiad next year so if anyone reading this is interested please see Mr Little in S10 or email g.little@orewacollege.nz with your interest.
