Archery Term 1, 2024 is being run by Mrs Hassall (Manager) and Mrs Newman (Coach).
We are pleased to advise that we are setting up for the Archery program to be run at Orewa college on the back field.
When : This will be held on the field every Tuesday afterschool, 3.30 - 4.30 pm.
Format : Students are taught in progressive steps the correct way to safely shoot at a target which eventually leads to strong competition amongst the students, leading to the use of smaller targets.
There are 5 targets and 5 students shooting at a time. Depending on final numbers each student can expect 3-4 turns.
You are welcome to bring your own gear if you have it.
Students: to wear comfortable clothing, a sunhat/sunscreen, bring a jacket and a drink bottle. The jacket helps protect the arm from the grazing by the bowstring as well as from the weather.
Parents: to collect students at 4.30 pm, entry from (gate 1) rear car park next to Hockey Turf.
Tuesday 20th February - Week 4
$ 35 for full 7 week program, Term 1.
Will be provided. Includes bows, arrows ,targets, arm guards, gloves. You are welcome to bring your own gear if you have it.
