At Orewa College, we bring sport to life through opportunity, inclusion, and strong community support.

Sport at Orewa College is about more than competition. It is about belonging, challenge, and providing meaningful opportunities for students to be active, connected, and confident. Through strong partnerships with families and the wider community, our sports programme supports students to grow both on and off the field.

Experience Sports at OC

Inclusive pathways, competitive opportunities and community involvement

At Orewa College, sport is designed to be accessible and rewarding for all students. With a wide range of sports on offer, dedicated staff leadership, and strong parent and caregiver involvement, students are encouraged to try new activities, develop skills, and represent the school with pride. Our programme balances participation and performance, ensuring students can enjoy sport at a level that suits their interests and abilities.

Volunteers & Support

Community involvement that makes school sport possible

The school relies heavily on volunteer involvement to provide sport at school and we would not be able to do this without the wonderful assistance of the wider community, parents, caregivers and former students.

It is always difficult to find people who have the time, energy, expertise and commitment to assist in the sports programme within schools; this makes your input especially valuable.

Orewa College is committed to the development of our coaches; we provide them with opportunities to further coaching qualifications in your sport. Should you also require any coaching resources, please feel free to contact us.

If you are interested in supporting the College through volunteering, coaching or managing a team please contact a member of the sports department at [email protected].

Students can express interest for as many zone days as they wish, participation will be dependent upon training and trial. Several weeks before the competition day students will be expected to attend regular training. Parent help is appreciated either as coach, manager or driver of a school minivan.
