At Orewa College, we grow a greener future together through action, learning, and care for our environment

The Orewa College Enviro-Group brings students, whānau, and the wider community together to support a more sustainable, eco-friendly kura. Guided by the principles of the Enviroschools programme, the group encourages practical action and thoughtful choices that honour Papatūānuku. Together, we can make a difference for our kura, our community, and our planet.

Featured opportunity

Help enrich biodiversity by contributing a native plant

We are replanting gardens across Orewa College with native plants and trees, creating a more consistent garden design and a welcoming habitat for birds and insects. With so much local habitat lost through recent development, every contribution, big or small, will help grow a greener school environment.

Our commitment to sustainability

A shared promise to care for Papatūānuku

In 2021, Ōrewa College officially became an Enviroschool, a milestone reflecting our collective promise to care for Papatūānuku, Mother Earth. The signing of the Enviroschools document by our principal, teacher, student, and Board of Trustees member symbolised this shared dedication.
