In Commerce, students develop practical skills and apply knowledge across a range of business related subjects through engaging, real-life learning experiences.


Middle School

Years 9 and 10

Students deepen their understanding of money, business, and decision-making. Through practical and real-world contexts, students are encouraged to think critically, act responsibly, and gain confidence in applying financial and business knowledge in everyday life.


Year 9 Financial Literacy

Managing money confidently and planning for the future

Studying Financial Literacy supports overall well-being by developing the knowledge and skills to manage money confidently, make informed financial decisions, and plan for the future. Students explore how to set goals, earn and spend wisely, budget effectively, save for short and long term needs, and understand the basics of retirement planning.

Year 10 Business

Entrepreneurship, teamwork, and real-world problem solving

Students explore their place in the economic environment and learn how entrepreneurial thinking supports smart financial choices, real-world problem solving, and positive contributions to the community.

Senior School

Years 11 to 13

Students in Years 11 to 13 further develop their skills and knowledge in Commerce through specialised courses and practical applications. Learning prepares students for NCEA assessments, scholarship opportunities, and pathways beyond school.
