If you would like to enrol your student in the Rumaki Reo Māori programme, please complete an enrolment form as a domestic student and indicate your interest on the form.

Out of Zone Applications

Application for Out of Zone Enrolments for 2027 are now OPEN.  (See below under Important Dates for Closure Date and Ballot Date).

  Please see below for the order of priority for out of zone students.

  • Priority 1: Special Programmes - Year 7 & 8 Rūmaki Programme
  • Priority 2: Siblings of current students
  • Priority 3: Siblings of former students
  • Priority 4: Children of former students
  • Priority 5: Children of employees
  • Priority 6: All other applicants
3. Next Steps After Application Submission

If your application is successful and all required documents are provided, the legal caregiver and child will be invited to an enrolment interview.

Open Evening 18 August (Term 3, Week 5)

Our Open Evening is designed for all parents and caregivers of students enrolling for 2027, especially those entering Years 7-9. 

You can meet with homeroom teachers, Heads of Departments and Deans for Years 7 and 8, and senior staff from other year levels, to discuss curriculum, academics, extracurricular activities, sports, performing arts programs, and our House Programme.

The Principal, staff members, and current students will also give a presentation, followed by a brief Q& A session.

2027 New Year 8 to 13 Student Tours - August 25 & 26 (Term 3, Week 6)

Orewa College is pleased to invite all our new students for 2027, and their caregivers, to register their interest in one of our New Student Tours in August. Registration will be available on our website closer to the time.

Students who are starting at Orewa College in 2027, and coming from one of our contributing primary schools (Ahutoetoe, Dairy Flat, Nukumea, Orewa, Orewa Beach, Red Beach or Silverdale), will be attending a tour and information day with their school in early August. These tours will be a double up for those students so please only complete this form if an additional tour is required.

Important Dates

Out of Zone Enrolments Close - Wednesday 2 September 2026 (Term 3, Week 7)

Out of Zone Ballot - Wednesday 9 September (Term 3, Week 8) - All out of zone applicants will be notified of the outcome of the ballot via email by 3.00pm

Enrolment Interview Evening - Tuesday 15 September (Term 3, Week 9) - Our only interview evening. Times allocated by Orewa College once enrolment application is complete. Time: 3.45pm to 7.00pm

Enrolment Interview Day - Friday 6 November (Term 4, Week 5) - Final opportunity to complete an enrolment interview before the end of the school year. Times allocated by Orewa College once enrolment application is complete. Time: 9.30am to 12.00pm

Un-Enrol or Student Leaver

Students who are to be un-enrolled or who are leaving Orewa College, please send an email to [email protected]

Zone

To avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the Board of Orewa College has adopted an enrolment scheme that has been approved by the Secretary for Education. An amendment to this scheme was approved in a letter dated Thursday 16 August 2018. 

This scheme came into effect on Tuesday 1 January 2019.
