Arts Week Showcases Performing Arts Opportunities

Orewa College students present music, drama and dance performances during Arts Week 2026 lunchtime events at the Orewa Arts and Events Centre.

Week-long programme highlights extra curricular pathways in music, drama, and dance

Article: Students across Orewa College took to the stage during Arts Week 2026, a week-long lunchtime programme celebrating the performing arts at the Orewa Arts and Events Centre.

Held from 23 February to 1 March, the series of performances gave students an opportunity to share work developed through extra curricular programmes in music, drama, and dance. Each lunchtime session offered the school community a chance to see what students had been preparing in rehearsals over recent weeks.

The programme opened with performances from the Senior Jazz group before the Senior Drama Club presented their production work. Midweek, students introduced the school’s first rock band performance, adding a new element to the lineup. Arts Week concluded with performances from the college’s competitive dance troupes.

The week was hosted by the Performing Arts Manukura and the student leadership team, who helped coordinate the performances and create a welcoming lunchtime space for the school community.
