Orewa College Student Council donated $2,271 to Hibiscus Coast Community House following student fundraising efforts in December.
$2,271 raised by ākonga to support local families in need
In 2025, members of the Orewa College Student Council visited the Hibiscus Coast Community House to present $2,271 raised through recent student-led fundraising efforts.
The donation reflects the generosity of ākonga who contributed throughout the term to support families and individuals within the local community. Funds were formally handed over during the visit, strengthening the long-standing connection between the kura and the Hibiscus Coast Community House.
Orewa College acknowledges Christine Alesbury and Judith Pearce for continuing to build this relationship and for the work they lead in supporting people across the Hibiscus Coast. The Community House provides practical assistance and advocacy for those experiencing hardship, particularly over the holiday period when demand often increases.
This contribution reflects the ongoing commitment of Student Council members to serve their community and show Manaaki in meaningful and practical action.
