Orewa College receives a grant from Akarana Community Trust to install lockable scooter racks in the Year 7&8 bike area to promote safe, low-emission transport.
Orewa College is excited to announce the installation of new lockable scooter racks in the Year 7 and 8 area, made possible by a generous grant from the Akarana Community Trust.
The initiative supports environmentally responsible transport and encourages our ākonga to choose active, low-emission ways of commuting to school. With a notable rise in students riding scooters, these lockable racks ensure that their scooters can be stored safely and securely during the school day.
"The new scooter racks are awesome; it is great to be able to lock my scooter up during the day as well!" said Charlie Botherway of 7ACR, expressing enthusiasm.
We are grateful to to Akarana Community Trust and also to Whangaparaoa Ten Pin Bowling for their support in promoting physical activity and well-being among our students.
