Orewa College’s Junior A Girls Volleyball team win the Harbour Superleague, with standout performances from several ākonga.

Strong season finish for both Junior A teams as focus shifts to Auckland and North Island Champs

Orewa College’s Junior A Girls Volleyball team have taken out the Harbour Volleyball Junior Superleague title after a competitive six-week season. Facing off against seven other teams to secure first place.

Their win was backed by an outstanding performance from Mikah Gemmell, who was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Teammates Savannah Fitzpatrick and Sofiya Fenva were also recognised for their play, earning spots on the Tournament Team alongside Junior A Boys players Coby Kayes and Thomas Manuel.

The Junior A Boys team also impressed throughout the season, finishing in a strong fourth place.

Both teams now turn their attention to the Auckland Championships and the North Island Championships, where they’ll face some of the best school teams from across the motu.
