Orewa College Year 7 and 8 water polo teams compete at North Island Cup for the first time, earning top results and proud moments.

Year 7 and 8 ākonga shine at North Island Cup debut

Orewa College’s Year 7 and 8 mixed water polo teams made a splash in their first-ever appearance at the North Island Cup, held across several Auckland school pools during the first week of the holidays.

In another milestone, the A Team stepped up to compete in the B Grade, a first for the kura, and came away with an outstanding 3rd place finish after seven hard-fought matches. The B Team also put on a strong showing in the C Grade, securing three solid wins from their seven games.

Throughout the tournament, both teams showed determination representing Orewa College. This historic outing marks an exciting step forward for water polo at Orewa College, with many of these young athletes already looking ahead to future competitions.
