Performing arts talent shines in Orewa College’s 2025 musical production

Orewa College’s 2025 production of Chicago has been recognised with ten nominations at the prestigious Auckland Live Showdown Awards, celebrating the hard work and talent of our cast, crew, and creative team.

Year 13 ākonga and Performing Arts Manukura Victoria Clark, who starred as Velma Kelly, is nominated for Best Performer in a Lead Role. “So proud of this team,” she said.

Other individual nominations went to Gail Boshard for Best Makeup and Costume, and Aiden Duke for Best Sound and Lighting. The show also received nominations for Best Vocal Performance, Best Dance Performance, Best Ensemble Performance, and Outstanding Musical.

Recognition for creative direction included Sarah Postlewaight and Lachlan Buckley for Best Choreography, and Karl Buckley for Best Director of a Musical.

The Auckland Live Showdown Awards ceremony will be held at the Bruce Mason Centre on Thursday 9 October.
