44 Orewa College International students enjoyed an interactive learning trip to MOTAT in Western Springs.
Hands-on learning and VR flight experience in Western Springs
Forty-four of our International students recently spent a day at the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) in Western Springs. The visit gave international ākonga a chance to explore New Zealand’s transport history in a hands-on way.
Students enjoyed everything from vintage trams to interactive science exhibits. A highlight of the trip was stepping into the future with a virtual reality flight experience. “They loved the VR flight across Auckland in an autonomous aircraft,” said staff member Bruce Hume.
The visit also gave students the chance to connect outside the classroom while learning about the technology that has shaped Aotearoa.
