Year 7 and 8 students proudly represented Orewa College at the Auckland Mathex competition.

Orewa College students impressed at Auckland-wide mathematics competition in Kohimarama

Orewa College students recently took part in the Auckland Mathex competition, held at the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium in Kohimarama on Thursday 21 August.

This fast-paced, problem-solving event brought together schools from across the region, and our students rose to the challenge with enthusiasm and teamwork.

Representing Orewa College were Lien Hu, Astin Coulthard, Izzy Rees-Hall, Arihaan Gunda, Matt Dodds, Lucy Tsarkova, Eason Feng, and Nikolai Glukhov from Year 7, and Mahi Goyal, Liam Kim, Eva Kopa, Dallas Lintag, William Locking, Nina Pfeiffer, Ben Smits, Ellie Tuohy, and Sithupa Withana Gamage from Year 8.

Their success was supported by teachers Nicola Smits, Anton Nielsen, Julie Gibson, and Ralph Zamora, who helped prepare and guide the teams to represent our kura and celebrate a passion for mathematics.
