Year 12 student Asmi Goyal to present her original fashion design at Walk the Line during NZ Fashion Week.
Asmi Goyal selected for Walk the Line, a top youth event on the national stage
Year 12 ākonga Asmi Goyal has been selected to showcase her creativity at Walk the Line, the youth runway event held during New Zealand Fashion Week. Her original design will feature on the national stage at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre on 30 August.
Asmi’s passion for design was clear earlier this year when she created a two-piece outfit for the Orewa College ball. She drafted her own patterns, explored new sewing techniques, and produced a garment that was both high-quality and full of personality.
At dress rehearsals for Walk the Line, Asmi told judges she was inspired by the texture and feel of the fabric, a key influence in her final design. The piece is a reflection of her individuality and a bold first step into the world of fashion.
Walk the Line is a major platform for designers aged 13 to 18 to launch their fashion careers.
