Nine ākonga and one kaiako were awarded for showing outstanding manaakitanga in Term 2 at Orewa College.

Ten role models recognised for uplifting others through manaakitanga

Ten members of our kura whānau have been honoured with the Term 2 Manaaki Greatness Award, recognising those who go above and beyond to uplift others and live our values every day.

Blake Ellis, Alina Korah, Ryder Donovan, Jordin Fitzpatrick, JD Potgieter, Olivia Greene, William Fairburn, Joe Yu, Alyssa Sou, and kaiako Nicola Smits were each nominated by several staff and students. Their actions, often quiet and thoughtful, have made a real difference to those around them.

The awards were presented by teacher Becky Hilliar and supported by Principal Wiri Warriner, celebrating each recipient as a living example of Manaaki Orewa. As well as a certificate, each honouree received vouchers thanks to the generous support of HOYTS Hibiscus Coast and Northern Union.

A huge thank you to these rangatira for helping make Orewa College a more caring and connected place.
