Writer Claire Aramakutu visited Orewa College and shared her story with Year 8 students.

Year 8 ākonga inspired by Claire’s journey and writing activity

“I got the opportunity to attend Claire Aramakutu’s presentation about writing,” says Amelia Whitehead, Year 8. “She was a wonderful lady with a lovely bubbly personality.”

Claire shared the story of her journey to becoming a writer, sparking inspiration among the students. “She told us about her incredible journey to becoming a writer,” Amelia says.

There was also time for hands-on fun. “Everyone got to participate in fun activity and we had a great time,” she adds. The interactive session kept the energy high and the students engaged.

Amelia finished her reflection with one clear wish: “We all enjoyed it very much and would love to see Claire at Orewa College again very soon!”
