Squash Champions on the Rise at Orewa College

Orewa College ākonga have made their mark in squash this year, delivering inspiring performances at both national and regional tournaments. Their efforts speak to a growing culture of athletic excellence at kura.

At the New Zealand Secondary Schools Individual Squash Championships, held at North Shore Squash Club, Yusra Rashid and Cory Lomas represented Orewa College with pride. Yusra achieved a historic silver medal, one of the kura’s top national squash results to date. Cory also impressed, matching the best in Auckland with a competitive edge.

Their momentum continued at the Squash Auckland Junior Age Group Tournament. Yusra dominated her division with Gold in U15 and added a Bronze in U19 competing successfully across age levels. Shahmir Choudery, another dedicated Orewa squash player, earned Bronze in the U17 Boys. His growth this season has been exceptional.
