Orewa College students explored public and emergency service careers with a Police-led Physical Appraisal Test (PAT) on campus. This hands-on experience was supported by officers from the North Shore, Rodney, and West Auckland Police Districts.
Real-World Police Experience for Aspiring Students
Orewa College students with aspirations to join the Police or other emergency services had the chance to test their skills, fitness, and determination recently. Thanks to a visit from local Police recruiters.
Officers from the North Shore, Rodney, and West Auckland Police Districts visited our kura to deliver a practice Physical Appraisal Test (PAT), offering a taste of the real assessment process used in Police recruitment.
This valuable experience is especially timely, with many students planning to apply to Police recruitment pathways at the end of this year.
The Police will return to Orewa College in Term 3 for a final assessment. Students will have the opportunity to:
Demonstrate improved fitness and preparedness
Connect with Police mentors
Take one step closer to a career in public service
