Julius Chivell Claims Waikato Boxing Belt with Lightning-Fast Win
Orewa College’s Julius Chivell is making waves in the boxing world after a stunning performance at the Nabbys Boxing Event in Hamilton. Julius secured the Waikato Cadet Belt with a first-round TKO — in under 20 seconds!
Event: Nabbys Boxing, Hamilton
Division: 55kg Cadet
Result: 1st-round TKO win

The match was part of a high-level amateur tournament, complete with weigh-ins, regulation gear, and a professional atmosphere. Julius, who has trained since the age of 8, represented Bunker Boxing and coach Nikolas Charalampous with confidence and composure beyond his years.
Julius is no stranger to the ring at Orewa College, having also competed in corporate boxing events held at the Orewa Arts & Events Centre. His fitness and strength are supported by his involvement in the rugby pathways programme and Physical Education at school.
“I'm excited to continue making my way to the top,” says Julius, who now has his eyes set on the Golden Gloves tournament in Tauranga this May.
