Orewa College Volleyball Teams Shine at New Zealand Secondary Schools Volleyball Championships

Orewa College’s volleyball teams recently displayed exceptional skill and dedication at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Volleyball Championships, competing against 100 teams from across Aotearoa.

  • Boys’ Team: 9th place finish

  • Girls’ Team: Bronze medal in Division 2, 19th place overall

  • 21 students represented Orewa College in this highly competitive event.

The boys' team achieved an impressive 9th place in their division. They narrowly missed out on the quarter-finals after facing top-ranked Manurewa and the eventual champions, Tauranga Boys, in a tough pool. Despite their strong efforts, they fell just short but showed incredible resilience throughout the competition.

Meanwhile, the girls' team had an outstanding performance, earning a bronze medal in Division 2 and finishing 19th overall. Their teamwork and determination were key factors in securing this podium finish.

A total of 21 Orewa College students represented the school at this prestigious event, where the competition was fierce. Their performance reflected the countless hours spent in training and the unwavering support from their coaches.
