House Athletics Returns with a Roar!

For the first time in years, Orewa College’s House Athletics event made a triumphant comeback, uniting Year 9-13 students in a day of spirited competition. With over 12 track and field events, every student had the chance to earn points for their house—whether through participation or top placements.

2025 House Athletics Champions 🏆

After a day of close contests and impressive performances, Nepia House emerged victorious with 896 points! The final standings:

• 🥇 Nepia – 896 points

• 🥈 Batten – 881 points

• 🥉 Sheppard – 599 points

• 4️⃣ Blake – 588 points

• 5️⃣ McLaren – 490 points

A Day of Energy & Competition

From sprints to long jump, discus to relay races, students gave their all on the track and field. Cheers echoed across the school as houses rallied together, supporting their teammates in every event.

“Bringing athletics back as a house event really lifted school spirit,” said the House Leadership team. “It was awesome to see so many people getting involved.”
