Welcoming International Students to Orewa College
Orewa College is proud to welcome 86 international students from 17 different countries in 2025. These students bring a wealth of cultures, perspectives, and experiences, enriching our school community and creating global connections.
A Supportive Start
To ensure a smooth transition, we run a three-day Orientation Programme at the start of the year.
66 new students arrived at the beginning of 2025.
Students explored Shakespear Regional Park, a stunning coastal reserve, to connect with nature and their new surroundings.
Orientation activities help students build friendships, navigate school life, and feel at home at Orewa College.
Homestay Programme
Most international students live with local host families through our Homestay Programme, which provides a welcoming and supportive environment.
Improve English in a real-world setting.
Experience Kiwi culture firsthand.
Feel supported as they adapt to a new country.
Student Ambassadors
Our student ambassadors play a key role in welcoming international students, offering guidance and friendship.
Coming to a new country can be overwhelming, but our student ambassadors make sure everyone feels welcome from day one."
