Orewa College recently gathered students, staff, and whānau to celebrate student leadership at the annual Manukura Breakfast—a special event honouring our young leaders and their commitment to the school and community.
Inspiring Words from Former Head Girl Alex Spence
The morning featured guest speaker Alex Spence, Orewa College Head Girl in 2003 and now Communications Director for the New Zealand Olympic Committee. She shared insights on leadership, resilience, and how Orewa College shaped her journey.
A New Leadership Structure
Principal Wiri Warriner spoke about the importance of student leadership and announced a significant change—elevating our deputy manukura roles to four head manukura positions, moving beyond the traditional head boy and head girl structure.

A Morning of Connection and Celebration
Attendees enjoyed a delicious breakfast of croissants, bacon and egg muffins, and fresh fruit while celebrating the mana of our student leaders. It was a chance to connect, reflect, and acknowledge the dedication of these young leaders.
