College's updated Manukura leadership structure for 2025, featuring four Head Manukura leaders, new global citizenship and mana tangata roles, and enhanced leadership opportunities for students.
Orewa College Manukura Leadership for 2025
Orewa College’s leadership structure has evolved for 2025, introducing a fresh approach to student leadership that elevates leadership roles within the school community while promoting diversity and inclusivity.
With the introduction of four Head Manukura leaders, this new structure offers students greater opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities.
New Leadership Opportunities
The traditional system of two Head Students, supported by two Deputy Head Students, has been retired in favour of four Head Manukura leaders. This change enhances the leadership experience for students by expanding the leadership team and elevating positions to increase student involvement and participation in leadership.
Meet Our 2025 Head Manukura Leaders:
Anika Pihema
Brooke McGhie
Connor Dalling
Lachlan Buckley
These Head Manukura will lead the student body and represent the school community with pride, ensuring all students feel empowered.
Celebrating Global Citizenship and Mana Tangata
To further elevate leadership and inclusivity, Orewa College has introduced Global Citizenship and Mana Tangata roles. These positions celebrate diversity and strengthen the school’s commitment to embracing and enhancing Te Ao Māori in the kura.
Global Citizenship Leaders:
Dhana Rodriguez
Simar Kaur Dulai
The role of Global Citizenship leaders is to foster an inclusive environment where differences are celebrated, and cultural understanding is promoted across the school.
Mana Tangata Leaders:
Phoenix Iopu Aso
Tasman Kaiwhakatere Baker-Jones
The Mana Tangata leaders will work to enhance the visibility of Te Ao Māori, supporting students in connecting with and appreciating Māori culture and values.
Additional Leadership Roles
Other leadership positions in the 2025 structure include academic, sports, and performing arts portfolios:
Community Manukura: Rhianka Moodley and Han Wang (Han is also a student representative on the Board of Trustees)
Academic Manukura: Ashling Collins and Troy Hebner
Sports Manukura: Ryder Donovan and Olivia Lysaght
Performing Arts Manukura: Sarah Postlewaight and Victoria Clark
House Leadership:
Jacob Montage (Batten House) will lead all House Leaders as House Manukura.
Ellie Harrison (Sheppard House) will also lead all House Leaders as House Manukura.
These roles provide students with the chance to take on responsibility and make meaningful contributions to their respective areas, whether in academics, sports, house or the performing arts.
“We are incredibly excited about the leadership opportunities available to our students in 2025,” says Principal Wiri Warriner. “This new structure enables us to strengthen our school’s values, celebrate our diverse community, and give students the support they need to succeed.”
Orewa College is looking forward to an exciting year ahead, where students can lead, learn, and grow together.
