Our Year 7 Mathematics programme uses ability-based grouping to

ensure students are working with other students at a similar level on

targeted skills and at a pace to maximise understanding of key concepts.

Students requiring more support have time to develop foundation skills,

while students with good understanding work on mathematical inquiries. Maths Buddy is one of our key mathematics tools.

Term 1 Number – operations, decimals and fractions

Term 2 Measurement - perimeter, area and volume; Number – fractions, decimals and percentages

Term 3 Algebra – patterns, equations and graphs; Statistics – using and representing data, investigations

Term 4 

Geometry – location; Number – recap; Measurement – time & temperature

Maths in Year 8 follows the Inquiry maths model. Maths Buddy is one of our mathematics tools.
