Year 7 & 8 Te Reo is embedded in the Y7 & 8 curriculum areas so student gain exposure to a wide range of language in the different curriculum areas they study.
We offer Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish courses in Years 7 & 8 as follows:
Students are introduced to language and culture, so they can introduce themselves, try new foods and explore festivals. Many students from our ALLiS schools are now extending these basics skills in Japanese and Chinese in Year 7.
These courses focus on building everyday vocabulary so students can interact in with simple language in supported situations.Students begin to understand differences and similarities with their own language(s) and make intercultural connections.
