This annual event celebrates and recognises Community Theatre for Musical Theatre New Zealand companies in the geographical region of Pukekohe to Kerikeri.

Centrestage Youth Theatre was nominated for the Best Youth Production 2017 for both Singin' in the Rain JR and Little Shop of Horrors. Two out of the 5 shows to be nominated.

Jackson Howes was nominated as best male youth actor for his role of Cosmo Brown in Singin' in the Rain JR. Jack Hollander was nominated for best male youth actor for his role as Audrey (the voice of) in Little Shop of Horrors. Caleb Jamieson was nominated for best male youth actor for his role as The Dentist, Orin Scrivello D.D.S in Little Shop of Horrors. Former student George Keenan was the director of Little Shop of Horrors - his debut in that role.

Billie Hart was the Musical Director of Little Shop of Horrors. Geena and Maxwell Hutton performed a fantastic tap routine as part of the entertainment on the evening.

Little Shop of Horrors won the Best Youth production 2017. Billie Hart won the John Antony Scholarship.

Many of these fine young adults attended the awards night and were excellent ambassadors of Orewa College.
