The Senior Jazz Band competed at the National Jazz Festival over Easter in Tauranga. 17 Students played a set of 4 pieces including Count Basie’s Splanky, Blue Skies, Pure Imagination and Pick up the Pieces. Each of these pieces featured soloists. A stand out was Jamie Hrstich featuring in Pure Imagination on the Alto Saxophone. The group played outstandingly and came away with a well earned Silver Award.
