International Pi Day is a day to celebrate the mysteriously irrational mathematical constant "Pi" which is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.
As the digits of Pi follow no identifiable pattern, every year competitions are held to see who is able to recite the most digits correctly as an ultimate test of memory. 2019 saw around a dozen students qualify (recite 30 decimal places correctly) to compete to be the Grand ChamPion. This year's winner is Year 12 student, Leroy Lu, who managed to recite and approximation of Pi to 666 decimal places.
