35 Middle School students participated in the Honours music festival, one of the biggest concert bands ever seen in New Zealand. A total of 455 musicians rehearsed for two days and then performed to a packed audience in the Auckland Town Hall. The sound was huge and exciting. There were 94 flutes, and many of every wind instrument. Orewa College students had a wonderful time, some saying it was one of the best experiences of their life. They also got to meet young musicians from around New Zealand. The only dilemma is where we can go next year if it continues to grow.
