During lockdown, Maria Walker-Kinnell, 8ODL entered the Fair Go Consumer Heroes competition and was one of 4 winners. Maria submitted a compelling and thought-out argument for the need for more recycling bins around the City. The team at Fair Go said “her energy on camera was fantastic”.

As a prize, Maria spent the day filming with the Fair Go team, and will feature tonight at 7.30pm on TV1 - so be sure to tune in.

For the school, she won a huge prize pack consisting of $1000 donated by TVNZ and $2,200 worth of camera equipment from Canon. We are very grateful to these two generous companies and Maria’s amazing accomplishment.
