On Thursday 14 March 13 students from Appleby College in Ontario, Canada and two of their teachers visited us at Orewa College. The students are specifically looking at Maori culture and how it has been woven into the framework of the country through cultural, historical, political, geographical and artistic lenses as they travel through various parts of New Zealand. They were hosted by wonderful buddies whose enthusiasm and manaaki spirit shone through as they shared time with them in class, playing sport and spending time at the beach learning new Kiwi games under the auspices of the PE department. It was such a pleasure having these visitors and very special to catch up with Nicola (Rivers) St George who previously taught at Orewa College. We wish them safe and happy travels as they continue exploring New Zealand.
