Trials, team selection and practices are held in mid Term 1. The competition is a 7-a-side, half-turf graded competition. Teams compete in weekly competition on Tuesday evenings during Terms 2&3 at Harbour Hockey. Our top teams compete at Year 7&8 zone days, and at the AIMS tournament in Tauranga in September.
Students must have appropriate hockey sticks, footwear, black PE shorts, mouthguard and shin pads. Students must purchase a player shirt and OC hockey socks from the sports office.

These are based on the previous year and are subject to change.
Players to provide sticks, mouth guards, shin pads. Goalie gear is provided if needed.
Orewa College provides playing tops or dresses. 1st XI players are required to purchase premier shorts or skorts. Sport Fees: these are based on the previous year and are subject to change.
Held on the school hockey turf of new Millwater turf courts. Teams will be allocated times and dates at the start of the season.

Boys generally play on a Wednesday night, times vary depending on grade.
Girls generally play on a Thursday night, time varies depending on grade.
End of season tournaments. These are entered by our 1st XI teams. Location of the tournament will vary depending on the Tier of tournament that each team is eligible for. Each tournament is played during winter tournament week, week 7 of term 3, (approx. early Sept)
