Existing members and any new members will be required to audition for entry to the band at the end of each school year. A commitment to rehearsals and individual practice are essential to the success of this group.
Rehearsals are held weekly on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:00pm.
Uniform Requirements
Orewa College Music black polo shirt (orders for this are organised by the Music department) and own black pants.
Activities for this ensemble include a Band Camp week-end away annually, participation in the National Concert Band Championships and the KBB Festival, with various performances within school and outside in the local community. Band members also have the opportunity to take part in overseas trips, such as Sydney in 2016 and a trip to the USA is also planned.
