On Friday 3 May, our school embarked on a momentous occasion – our very first Enviroschools Celebration Day! This day was not just a celebration; it was a testament to our collective dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
We were honoured to welcome esteemed guests who have been instrumental in guiding us on this transformative journey.
Members of the Auckland Council, local community groups, and fellow students and teachers from neighbouring schools joined us to commemorate our environmental achievements.
The day commenced with a traditional whakatau, and a bite to eat. Attendees then embarked on a guided tour of our school, where our environmental milestones of the past three years were proudly showcased.
This was followed by a presentation by our passionate Enviro group, that highlighted the diligent efforts and tangible results of our endeavours. Our guests were visibly impressed by the progress we have made to date.
A highlight of the day was the culinary showcase by our food technology students, who crafted a delectable array of dishes using produce from our school garden. This not only underscored the importance of sustainable practices but also demonstrated the practical applications of our environmental education.
As we reflect on this momentous day, we are filled with pride for the milestones we have achieved thus far. Yet, this celebration is just a stepping stone towards greater goals.
With determination and enthusiasm, we eagerly anticipate further progress on our environmental journey, aiming for the prestigious silver and gold accolades.
